  1. What are the teachers qualifications?

    All of our teachers have had at least three years of teaching experience. Most majored in Chinese Literature or Education while in college, and have taught Chinese in the U.S. for five or more years. They are all fully capable of bilingual teaching (English-Chinese).

  2. How will you determine the level of each child's Chinese language ability?

    There will be placement test for the new students (except for kindergarten). Also, during the school year, if a teacher feels that another grade level will be more beneficial to a student, the teacher will discuss the issue with the parent's and can make recommendations.

  3. Will there be tests/exams? Will there be homework for them?

    Yes. We ask students to do the homework assigned for each week, and take a lesson test at the end of each lesson, both depending on each teacher's class. There will be a final exam at the end of each semester.

  4. What will be the language medium for teaching? Will it be in Mandarin or Cantonese, or is there any bilingual class?

    The Mandarin dialect is the language that we teach with. All of our teachers will also use English to better communicate with their students.

  5. What will be the class levels?

    BVCS offers classes from Kindergarten through 7th grade. Han Yu Pin Yin is taught at all grade levels.

    Yes, both periods are academic. We will not have the high school credit program opportunity.
