浩瀚無垠的中華文化珍藏，就在我們身邊！
位於Danville的「黑鷹博物館」，有一個令人驚豔的中國展覽館-- "The Into China Gallery"。兵馬俑，紫禁城，古雕刻，古建築，雕梁畫棟，美輪美奐！
灣谷中文學校將在2022-11-11，舉辦校外教學（當日為退伍軍人節，放假不用上課）。
歡迎全校師生，家長，一同前往。門票全免，還有專業導覽員解說每一項珍藏，是您實地認識中華文化，大開眼界的好機會！

BVCS' Culture tour to the Blackhawk Museum on Veterans Day (11/11/2022)
Immense Chinese cultural and historical treasure is right around our neighborhood. Situated in Danville is the Blackhawk Museum, in which the "Into China" Gallery houses the finest handcrafted masterpieces that mirror the country's enormous scale and capture the essence of all that culturally embodies China, past and present.

Educational experience at Bay Valley Chinese School is never confined by the bound of classrooms. In an attempt to immerse students into Chinese culture and broaden their cultural consciousness, we had in prior years organized cultural tours to a number of places. This year, we would like to lead a tour to the Blackhawk Museum in Danville. The "Into China" Gallery is of special interest in this field trip. Below are details about this tour.

  WHEN:   November 11, 2022 (Veterans Day) (Friday) 9:30 am – 12:30 pm
  WHAT:   Docent-led tours to two galleries:
  1. "Into China" – Travel to ancient China and explore the Chinese culture through music, ceramics, and cultural arts. See Terracotta Warriors, the Emperor's throne, the Forbidden City, Bianzhong bronze bells, and more.
  2. "The Spirit of the Old West" – Learn what it is like in the Old West. Imagine yourself as a Native American, a trapper, a trader, a settler or a cowboy. See wildlife, wagons, tools, and more.
  WHO:   All BVCS students, teaching assistants, teachers, staff, and parents are welcome.
*Note: Each student must be chaperoned by at least one parent/guardian.
  HOW:   Arrange your own transportation to the Blackhawk Museum
  HOW MANY:   a maximum of 60 participants
  Admission Fee:   $0

"Autumn Tiger Flexing its Muscles!"
This is a Chinese idiom used to depict how the Fall weather is kidnapped by the Autumn Tiger, who demonstrates its power by inflicting sweltering heat.
The Autumn Tiger flexed its muscles during the Mid-Autumn Festival this year.
As the outdoor temperatures soared to the 100s range, full-blown air-conditioning kept the classrooms in Bay Valley Chinese School nice and cool. Ah, a comfortable environment for our teachers and students!

Students in 1B, under the guidance of Miss Fang, learned the legend of the Mid-Autumn Festival through the making of a paper plate moon.

教務主任張麗文， 捕抓到小朋友在明月下召開秘密會議的可愛畫面。

Room parents attended their orientation meeting last September 9. Kudos to all these enthusiastic parents who volunteer to take up the heavy responsibilities of assisting their homeroom teachers and helping the school in times of events.
Julie Liang, Director of Activities, served our industrious teachers delicious moon cakes and fruit cups and wished them a happy Mid-Autumn Festival.

    Yard Duty Lead is one of the most rewarding jobs you can have at BVCS. Shift-leader's responsibility is to coordinate, manage, & lead all facets of security for one (1) month out of the year.     In order to ensure a safe environment conducive to learning, our yard-duties will enforce the following rules:
    1. Students are prohibited from climbing, running, or causing disruptions on the campus.
    2. Visitors who are not an immediate relative of students must check in with the yard-duty at the front gate and record on the "visitors book" their name, signature, the purpose of their visit, and the date and time of their arrival and departure.
    Parents, students, and teachers are asked to be cooperative and be vigilant on these aspects.

  5. Food Allergies Alert
    Due to the concern about life threatening allergies to nuts. Please do not send nuts or snacks containing nuts to school with your child. Thank you for your understanding.

  6. Snacks and Beverage Policy 零食，飲料只可於休息時段在戶外食用
    Students should only consume their snacks and beverages during outdoor recess time. Thank you for your cooperation.
