鼠年吉祥! Wish you an auspicious year of the Rat! 三年級A班張老師喜用摺紙的趣味，運用巧思帶領學生認識春節及過年的習俗。 Inspired by the Zodiacal Rat, our 3A teacher Amy Chang designs and creates Mickey Mouse origami pendants (see the photo on the left). Combined with a collection of super cute red envelopes, these fun decorative crafts spark students' interest in traditional Chinese customs and leave on them an enduring impression about the Chinese zodiac. What a fabulous way to celebrate Chinese New Year and teach students about Chinese culture. |

Flu Season & Coronavirus Advisory
冬天已至，請大家注意天氣變化及身體健康。如有感冒、發燒、咳嗽症狀出現時，請將學生留在家中，並知會老師。武漢肺炎疫情擴散，本校呼籲近期如有自中國武漢回美的家庭，請自行居家隔離，暫時不用到校上學。並請大家注意武漢肺炎疫情全球擴散的最新防治措施。
With cold and flu season upon us, please help control the spread of infectious diseases at school. Other than flu shots, everyone is encouraged to practice good health habits like washing your hands regularly with soap and water. If your child shows symptoms of flu, please keep your child at home and notify his/her teacher. Due to the outbreak of the Wuhan coronavirus, our school is asking anyone (adults and children) returning recently from the affected regions to stay home for at least 14 days and seek medical care immediately if starting to experience respiratory symptoms. It is important to take this precautionary measure to keep in line with community sentiment in order to ensure safety in school environment. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has confirmed 5 cases in the United States and all these patients have travelled to Wuhan. Please stay tuned to CDC's guidance on prevention and treatment.

Authentic Taiwanese style Dinner Box is coming for BVCS CNY Celebration!
These tantalizing dinner boxes cost $10 a piece, and come with a small bottle of water. They can only be purchased in advance and will be delivered at the BVCS CNY Celebration on 2/14. Please submit your pre-order, together with payment, to your child's room parent on or before 2/7/2020.

Southwest Airlines Chinese New Year Parade in San Francisco. 5:00 PM ─ 9:00 PM.
The parade, which started in 1860s, has remained one of the few nighttime illuminated parades in North America and the grandest parade celebrating the Lunar New Year outside of Asia.
