Chinese New Year Celebration has came to an end

春節聯歡晚會上週五(2/19/2010)圓滿落幕

 

BVCS annual Chinese New Year celebration was held last Friday with more than 500 people crowed the school multi purpose room.  The celebration hall was ornamented with arched balloons, auspicious red scrolls and lanterns; the BIG stage decors comprised hand made greetings scrolls, hand-drawn happy mascots on draped red silk and festive firecrackers.

 

上週五本校舉辦的新春聯歡晚會吸引了學生、家長以及社區內中外友人超過五百位人士共同參與。會場內佈置起了大型氣球拱門，舞台上掛起全新製作的舞台佈景，紅緞布幔上有著八小福過新年逗趣的畫面，兩旁陪襯著“爆竹一聲除舊歲，桃符萬戶迎新春”大幅春聯及長串鞭炮，濃濃地烘托著大過年的歡樂氣氛。這些美麗的佈景都是由學校家長親手製作。會場內也出售一些中式食物、小點心及飲品。中式童玩的攤位上陳列了不少件傳統式的兒童玩具，許多小孩都興起動手玩了起來。

 

Evening program featured kindergarten to 12th grade admirable performances and stunning costumes. Xiao-Pei He, the worldly renowned folk dancer, presented the “Peacock Dance” and the U.S.A. Wu Chi Kung Fu Academy entertained audience with the “Chinese Kung Fu”.  Our honorary guests consist Mr. Abram Wilson, Mayor of San Ramon; Mr. Bill Clarkson, Trustee of San Ramon Valley Unified School District; Ms. Denise Hibbard, Principal of Dougherty Valley High School; Hsiao-ling Mao Chin, Vice President-Secretary of NCACLA and Chairwoman of BVCS board of directors; Mr. Tak Liong, President of ANCCS; Jane Louie, Ambassador of San Ramon Chamber of Commerce; Environmentalist Dr. Chinglin Chen; Mr. Yong Fu, Principal of San Ramon Chinese School and StarTalk So. California coordinator Mr. David Wu.

 

晚會節目自幼稚班到十二年級的學生負責演出，每位上台的學生都渾身解數表演認真可圈可點，並且在服飾打扮上都有講究。今年邀請到中國著名的民族舞蹈家何曉佩小姐演出“孔雀舞”以及美國無極功夫學院演出“中國功夫”。場內座無虛席，人人看得專著入神。今年多位中外社區領袖貴賓蒞臨共同參與春節聯歡為慶祝活動掀起高潮。貴賓有：聖拉蒙市(City of San Ramon)市長Mr. Abram Wilson、聖拉蒙學區教育委員(San Ramon Valley Unified School District) Mr. Bill Clarkson、多爾第高中(Dougherty Valley High)校長Ms. Denise  Hibbard、全美中文學校聯合會副總會長及灣谷中文學校董事長毛小苓，北加州中文學校聯合會會長梁德生，聖拉蒙市商會2009年親善大使(San Ramon Chamber of Commerce) Jane Louie，環保專家陳慶林博士及南加州星談計劃(StarTalk)負責人吳德偉等人。多位貴賓都上台致詞感謝及鼓勵灣谷中文學校為社區所做出的貢獻，以及學習中文的重要性，並對於由義工運作校務的灣谷精神感動敬佩。聖拉蒙市Wilson市長並贈與祝賀狀。

The BVCS 2010 Yearbook Cover Design Contest is open to all students, submit your entry by March 12   

年刊封面設計比賽截止日期三月十二日

The Yearbook Cover Design is open to BVCS students from K to 12.  All entries must be original artwork.  1st place winner will receive scholarship of one hundred dollars.  Please visit school web site for details.

本校學生幼稚班到十二年級學生都可報名參加年刊封面設計比賽。參賽作品必須是原稿，第一名獎金一百元，畫作將刊登在今年年刊封面。詳細內容請上網查看。

A Fun Filled Night Market 灣谷新年夜市圓滿結束

Thank you note from the principal

It was a wonderful occasion last Friday (2/12/2010) evening for our Night Market. The Market place was beautifully adorned with New Year’s deco, scrolls, balloon arches, and table covers; the rich varieties of food presented, with flavors for everybody to enjoy. Traditional Chinese folk tunes performed by members from the Berkeley Youth Orchestra greeting “Xin Nian Kuai Le! Gong Hei Fat Choy” to audience.  Games and prizes kept children busy through the evening while the jewelry auction collected a sizeable contribution. Ms. Monica Hsu from the US Census Bureau was present and briefed the audience on the upcoming nation wide Census. We are thankful to Assistant Principal, Evelyne Chiang, for the planning and coordinating, as well as members of our Administrative staff, teachers, parents, and students, all contributing to this memorable and successful Night Market.

 

上週五二月十二日的午後四點，會場內陸續進來了幫忙的義工，四處張貼各式各樣的慶祝新年的掛飾、架起了氣球拱門、桌面鋪上了應景的紅桌布。會場已揚溢著過年的氣氛。剛巧又是小年夜，大家一塊兒吃年夜飯吧！在一片期待中國新年的熱鬧氣氛中，當六點正式展開了新年夜市的活動，長型餐桌上擺出了香噴噴美味可口的各種風味小吃，有滷肉飯、烤年糕、炒麵、油飯，鹹甜多款麵食包子。許許多多的父母都帶著小孩一起來感受逛夜市的樂趣，輕鬆享用各式小吃、甜點、珍珠奶茶及紅豆湯。柏克萊青少年樂團四名團員現場演奏一支支好聽懷舊的中國歌謠，讓會場充滿了濃濃的中國氣氛。遊戲區擺設了多種遊戲供小朋友來玩，還有免費獎品可拿。本校四位學生的扯鈴表演帶動許多學生興起學習的欲望。首飾義賣陳列出的式樣種類繁多，物美價廉吸引許多媽媽駐足購買。全國人口普查局公關專員徐敏子女士還特地自舊金山前來，為本校師生家長做了一個普查須知說明會，並且帶來不少紀念品送給我們。感謝活動負責人副校長張東明的細心規劃安排、多位家長、老師、行政人員的愛心烹調以及所有參與活動工作的家長、學生義工們，讓我們今年的新年夜市活動有聲有色圓滿結束。
